Background

My illustrations represent the beautiful world around me; think Cathy and Heathcliffe and you're pretty close.  I work from my remote hill farm home in the north pennines and try and capture the variety of life that lives in these wooded valleys, meadow lands and wild windswept moors.
Having had no formal training this all began as a hobby at the kitchen table.  And to be fair, that's where most of it still gets done!

What is stippling?

The stipple technique is the process of using dots to create light and shade to simulate solidarity.  Its history dates back to the Renaissance period when it was used in printmaking.
